A growing community of faith with deep roots in Waleska.

Waleska United Methodist Church is a warm, growing congregation located on the campus of Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia. We are people of different ages, backgrounds, experiences, and places along the journey of faith. What brings us together is God’s grace and a shared desire to follow Jesus Christ. All are welcome, and there is a place for you here.

Our calling

We are called to be the visible presence of Jesus. That calling shapes the way we worship, care for one another, serve our neighbors, and take part in the life of our community. We want people to encounter the love of Christ not only in what we say on Sunday morning, but also in the way we live throughout the week.

At Waleska UMC, faith is more than something we believe. It is something we practice together. We gather for worship, grow through study and prayer, build relationships across generations, and serve alongside community partners. We believe every person has gifts to share and that following Jesus leads us beyond ourselves into lives of compassion, generosity, justice, and hope.

United Methodist

As a United Methodist congregation, we are rooted in Scripture, shaped by tradition, strengthened by reason, and attentive to the experience of God’s grace in our lives. We believe God’s grace is offered to all people. We seek a faith that engages both heart and mind and that bears fruit through love of God and service to our neighbors.

Rooted here, looking forward

Our roots in Waleska reach back to 1834, when Reinhardt Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church was founded. The histories of the church, the community, and Reinhardt University have been closely connected for generations. Today, that relationship continues as our congregation serves both the university and the wider Waleska community.

We believe God is still creating something new among us. Waleska UMC is a church where longtime members and first-time guests worship side by side, where children are cherished, where questions are welcomed, and where people find meaningful ways to grow and serve. We invite you to become part of what God is doing here.
